Using Linux - Recovering user password

Yesterday I lost my password account...
Following this tuto I cracked that and my old password and used my PC again...
I was pretty lucky, cause don't forget my root pass... and there is another user on my PC... I just logged on the other user, opened the shell, and "followed" the tutorial's instructions.
